“I just want a plain blu-Ray player to play blu ray disc. I don’t need all those apps and internet connection. My new Sony H80x has all of that, and it connects well to the internet (my WR at other end of house). Can I use this device w/o internet?”

the answer is yes Duck. no need to hook this player to a network of any kind. it's ready to play ALL your disks right out of the box. CD-Audio, DVD and Blu-Ray (up to 1920x1080p). enjoy!
