The blu ray player has WiFi capability so that you can connect with your internet service provider. You still need an internet service provider for it to communicate with so that you can view Netflix, YouTube, etc. through your player. It acts much like (In place of) a Fire Stick to connect your tv to the internet. If your tv can already communicate with the internet, then you really only need the blu ray to play movies.

No, this Blu-ray Disc isn't free multi-region. The unit have region codes written in letters to indicate a particular zone or region where you can play the discs.

Beginning on August 14, 2019, the Hulu app will no longer be available on certain U.S. Blu-Ray Disc player models, due to the fact that the app will no longer be supported by Hulu on those models.
