I had the same issue. I messed with this little issue for close to an hour (including looking up in troubleshooting tips in the manual and online). I had to run update for the Sony UBP-X1000ES and accept the update. The accept dialog box was not direct in stating accept this or the update will not take. I recommend re-updating and accept the update agreement and voila it should read all discs. Hope this helps.
