• I believe so, I haven't personally tested it yet. It does have it's own upscaler, I'm just not sure of how good the quality is. I hope that helps a little.

• I never looked at the upscaling, however always had good quality, audio and video on my Harman Cardin sound bar, as well as my Marantz/definitive technology five speaker system.
