Prior to purchasing the X800M2 I had the X800 and what a drag that uhd player was. Constant hard resets by disconnecting from the 115VAC. Even though most online reviews stated that the revised model retained the same problem I took a leap of faith. Glad I did. Have new player about one year. Never a freeze up on any format disc! I give it a big Recommend.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.My first X800M2, purchased 11/23, would lock up and not respond to the remote not the front-panel controls, and required the Hard Reset. Traded in it in for a new one two weeks later, and it developed the same problem in about 4 weeks. Sony, you have a real problem here. We'll see how my new Panasonic works out.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.If your 4K TV has apps (and nearly ALL do) then you don't need to connect this Sony player to the Internet. Simply choose "do not allow" in the settings and remove any internet options throughout the set-up. Following this advice should help you from the freezing issues. This is not a 100% foolproof method because you might still encounter freezing (especially with 4K discs), but it does eliminate the frustration more than not. Just remember that no machine is perfect no matter what it is.

(Sound issues on burned DVDs) _____ I only have 2 DVDs had frozen-up. (Unresponsive = hard reset, unplug) 1 movie, 1 TV season (5 manufacturer discs out of 150+ @ DVD, Blu-ray, ULTRA Blu-ray) = I completely omit those and use streaming when wanted to watch
