I have this player (UBP X800 M2) and I asked Sony customer service about that, and unfortunately, Netflix, YouTube, and Amazon Prime Video, is all they support right now, but did say it would be possible for further support with an update, but couldn't confirm that such update would be coming at any point. Fingers crossed it will, but honestly, you're buying this player for disc playback and it's awesome. Quality is amazing and with all the settings on Auto, I'm getting Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision. No need to mess around with the settings or any of that. I have a Roku Ultra for other streaming services.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I would not purchase any Sony Blu-Ray player for the streaming apps. I seems that it is not up to Sony weather the app is included but instead the streaming service itself. I have an older Sony Blu-Ray player that had both Amazon Prime and Netflix apps included when new. But recently the apps disappeared from the player because those services no longer support my player. They were streaming very well for the time that have owned the player so I'm mot sure why they discontinued their support. So who knows how long the apps will be supported with this player or any other new player before they disappear from the player.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Why would you want apps on this? It's a 4k player so you would need a 4k TV. Then the 4k TV would already have those apps you needed and a whole lot more.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Currently, the player has just 3 apps: NetFlix, Amazon Prime and YouTube. You cannot download other streaming apps, so you won't have a way to add Hulu and Vudu. Sony may add more apps as time goes by, but meanwhile the player is limited to the 3 provided apps.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It Also has Amazon Prime video. Hulu and Vudu are not available at this time you will have to use another streaming device for these. Sony will probably add additional apps soon.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I am no longer gonna buy this model since it does not have apps like VUDU and FandangoNow.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You can not download any new streaming apps as of yet. It only includes Netflix, Amazon Prime, and YouTube at the moment. If you have a Google play account linked to Vudu, you will be able to watch your purchased movies through YouTube.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.No. You only get Netflix Amazon and YouTube
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It would be great if this upscale blue-ray player as at least one HDMI input to connect a streaming device such as Chromecast and Roku to get many apps in one shot. I liked the splitting of HDMI Video and Digital audio output to use this device in home theater set up and act as a single source of media input. Apple TV and/or other streaming devices do not offer audio/video splitting and Sony can add value by offering this option.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I haven't figured out how to add other streaming services, so as far as I know you can't add other services. but that was not a deal breaker for me. I have the other services on my Frire TV, Roku and its installed on my LG tv.
