My son hooked it up. I asked him about this. I don’ know if this helps. Not sure of the A B BUTTON BUT IT PLAYED our region dvd tha is not region 1 which we were hoping for.... it is an amazing DVD player. It has a beautiful picture and built in WiFi which made a Hugh difference. We are in a dead zone &when turned on our Netflix or Vudu never dropped out.... we love it.....
