• Hi Gino, Thank you for your interest in Sony and the MHCV71! Unfortunately, this unit cannot be charged, it needs to be plugged into a wall outlet to power the unit. You might want to check these Sony home audio system that can be charged with built-in battery: GTK-XB90 and GTK-XB60. Hope this helps! David
