Can these connect to Airpods? I'm guessing no but... null

I think your Airpods should connect to the NW-A55, although there may be a few hicups with connecting. I use Jaybirds Vistas with them right now and when they work they work wonderfully but sometimes the connection isn't done right and you can't change the volume. That situation might happen with the airpods. A quick solution for me is just turn off the airpods, turn them back on and attempt to reconnect. The Sony Proprietary OS's bluetooth driver doesn't seem to work as good as well as android bluetooth drivers.

I believe so but Airpods don't have AptX bluetooth, so you're limited to SBC, LDAC, aptX, aptX HD. Apple products usually just support SBC or AAC only.
