• NO. NW-A50 Series are not a streaming walkman. If you want to upscale to hi-res(similar) class of your streaming or stored music from your phone or pc, you can use this as USB-DAC with wired hi-res compatible earphone(or headphone) Otherwise this walkman needs music stored within. UI is by SONY, not Android.

• No. But if using streaming apps in a phone or tablet, iOS or Android, they can stream to the Sony digitally and the sound can come out of the Sony better DAC converter for a superior sound than the phone or tablet allow. It’s necessary to activate the Sony Bluetooth Receiver, which is separate from the transmitter than sends the Sony audio to a Bluetooth headphone speaker.
