Yes, there is an option where you can choose how much external noise would pass through.

You can have ambient when you begin talking and music will shift off too, you can have ambient bleed through with music, you can have total noise cancelling or turn all active parts off. It’s a great feature of these And I really like that part about them. You can even program the contact buttons to turn it of and on like I do with the left bud. Works flawlessly. Well except when I have it on voice activated. It some times comes on too often and it can be irritating. I wish you could change the attenuation. Good luck to you and enjoy.
