Hello surfside, Thank you so much for your inquiry. The WF-1000XM4 Wireless Noise-Canceling Headphones is compatible with Apple product that supports Bluetooth A2DP (Advanced Audio Distribution Profile) profile for wireless headphones and speakers' connection. Unfortunately, it will not work the iPod touch 4th generation. We can only pair these headphones with iPhone 5s and later, iPad Air and later, and iPod touch (6th generation) and later. Not sure. I use them on my phone, samusung galaxy note 8, tablets apple ipad pro 9.7in, apple ipad 10.2 in 2021, and Samsung galaxy tab a 10.1 2016. All work fine.

They connect via Bluetooth, so any Bluetooth-enabled device will connect.
