I'm not sure what you've tried already. I've had mine for over a year with no problems. Some devices it will recognize and connect to when simply turned on (ex: my Motorola phone will automatically pair with it). If I want it to connect to something else like my iPad within the same vicinity, I often have to press and hold the power button until it says "power on....Bluetooth pairing." Then I pick the "MDR-XB50BS" from the Bluetooth device options listed on my iPad. Like I said, you probably already tried this. You could have a more complicated problem!
