No, this is not portable and must be plugged in.

Please try again later.This being the Sony xb7 means it has to be plugged in at all times if you want one that is the same size but portable that is the Sony xb90 which has a battery life of 16hours and on maximum volume battery level is 3.5 hours! You can move it from room to room (it has a handle) where ever you have an wall outlet for power. This is a great speaker for sound and power!
