• make sure that you're on the AUX mode and not usb or bluetooth. Also ensure that all the cables are plugged into the in and pushed in all the way.

• I think the volume control is linked to the input device. If the turntable does not have a volume control it may not work. you can also make sure you are plugged into the input not the output jacks. They are right next to each other.
