we bought 2 XZ2 compacts last sept. we use them on cricket ( AT&T) … we went to Japan in Oct for 3 weeks and bought sims at a electronic store ( good for 21 days . 5gigs data for 21 usa$ ea... 2X - 3X that price at airport.) ..NOTE: in Japan tourist cannot buy sims that make phone calls. we used SKYPE to make calls in Japan and back to USA ) we used skype to txt persons there … to text each other we used our google numbers ( skype to google #) … also buy sim card at a place that will set it up for you. most electronic stores have a persons that will set up ur phone. you can also rent phones at airport that are set up so you can make calls but most are not smart phones.
