• Yes and no. They do control some local noise like my wife watching TV in the other room but on occasion I can hear train horns even though we live a few miles from the track. A lot seems to be how adept you are at fitting them, Get them in just right and they're fine. The ANC is not very aggressive compared with a very uncomfortable brand I tested previously
