• The case covers the buttons also. I find it harder to push the buttons with the case on. So I believe the answer to your question is yes.

• It does make the buttons firmer and not so easy to press. I was accidentally pressing the buttons and powering off my phone in my pocket with my previous case, this one rectified that issue for me.

• The buttons are not recessed into the case, so in theory they could easily been pushed. I, however, have not had the issue.
