During regular use (atom, sublime text, python, ruby, javascript, chrome with 50 tabs), I get a good 8 hours. I'm not sure what the battery would be like if I were streaming video for a full charge, but I have easily gone a whole day of regular use without charging. I just opened it from being asleep for 5 days from the previous charge and I still have about 80% battery. HP's site boasts 12 hours, and I'd say that's close enough to accurate for me. There were reports of terrible battery performance on a different model, but the 13-ae011dx has been great to me.

I have that computer also, but I prefer the HP, especially for the two-way options and the touch screen capabilities. Battery life has not been a problem for me at all.
