I cannot answer that question, but I can offer some tips to avoid having to do that. First, I would not attempt to take apart anything and void the 5-year warranty. Second, do not overuse he detergent, any amount above line 1 on the cap is too much. Third, do not use fabric softener! Finally, every month or so I do a clean cycle with hot water, deep fill, and an Active washing machine cleaning tablet, I also leave the lid open after each use to thoroughly dry the inside.
