“In order for me to get these to fit I'll need to stack the dryer on top of the washer. Is that an option, or does the washer need to go on top?”

The dryer goes on top. Keep in mind that the dryer sits a few inches farther back on the washer once stacked and installed.

Please try again later.thats the kit you will need to stack them up and dryer goes on top of washer, not the other way around(washer is too heavy to be on top).And depends what manufacture and models you trying to stack up, because i stacked samsung and now I'm very disappointed
