The WF330 and DV330, as well as other Samsung front load models, are curved in the front which results in the bottom of each unit being deeper than the top. They are designed to stack so this curvature in the front is aligned. In order to accomplish this, the back of the dryer must overhang the washer by a few inches. The stacking kit is designed to accommodate this overhang. - Ms. Samsung
