Is it shipped in a padded box to prevent damage? null

It ships with those inflatable air packs on top. Unfortunately, the bottom of the box was mangled during shipping, so protection level was basically zero. My figure arrived after having the back poorly taped back together. (Oddly enough, they didn't tape the bottom of the cardboard shipping box closed again though. Just closed it with the ruined original tape.) 
The only pristine thing in the box was the air packets. Not a flat one in the set lol.

Not padded but the package fits snugly in the box so there is not much room for movement. Both of mine were fine

Yes, Mine showed up without even a fingerprint, straight from the case no dents after ordering!.... I almost could not open it looked so good.

Just got mine the other day. Figure box fit perfectly in shipping box. Little to no room for any "mosh pit" handling that might have occurred in shipment. The shipping box was delivered with no apparent outside damage. No internal safety packing. Figure box had no apparent damage either. Careful when opening with a sharp object, as there is hardly any room between box flaps and figure box. When I say the figure box fits inside the shipping box exactly, it fits perfectly. I was very surprised for no damage. I was expecting the worst and having to return it. No problems here. If you don't wanna buy this in the store or cant find it there, take a risk like I did and just order it. While others are looking FOR it, I'm actually looking AT it. Good luck.

I've ordered 3 figures from Best Buy in the past 2 months, and all came with the large size air bubble packing in the box to keep it from sliding around. All my figures arrived in perfect condition so far. Way better than Amazon (for example) who nowadays doesn't put any packing material in their boxes at all.

the box is sized just big enough to house the figure snuggly. no real protection. beware mine came slashed to heck by a razor knife.
