Can I connect this to my laptop? ASUS ROG GL502VM null

The specs on the laptop say mini display port so I don't believe this will fit.

It not and HDMI. If your laptop or graphic card has this port you can. This is a new style port now being used on high end graphic cards and 4K televisions and monitors. My new Alienware monitor curve screen 32” has this pit plus a HDMI port. My PC had both as well. The monitor cane with this cable ( display port). If you have a display port on your laptop you can use it.
