“I have an XBox One and just bought this headset. I was told it was wireless even on XBox but can't figure out how to get it to work wirelessly. I have connected the USB Cable with the dongle provided and plugged it into the back of the xbox but still nada”

Make sure the dongle switch is set to Xbox and plugged into the front of your Xbox. Not the back. Power the headset on and hold the power button for 6 seconds. Also make sure you have the Xbox exclusive pair that come on a green box like this. The other arctis 1 wireless sets are not wirelessly compatible with Xbox.

The other one is PS4 pc Android Switch the only way to hook up the PS4 version it to use it with Xbox 1 is wired . The transmitter is different from both models . You have to have the Xbox one transmitter to work wireless with your Xbox.
