Your Xbox controller needs a 3.5mm jack (I think all the new ones have it). Yes, you can hear the game and hear people talk and talk into the mic. Make sure your Xbox settings are adjusted so the party chat goes through your headset instead of just your TV.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You shouldn't need an adapter if your controller has the mic/audio headphone port. This headset is also meant for 2 way transmission, so you should be able to hear and speak. Remember to unmute yourself when you need to speak. My son tends to mess with the on headset mute button. lol Remember this headset is "wired" not the Bluetooth version, so it does require to be plugged in. On the bright side, you don't have to worry about connection issues or recharging/battery capacity.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I use it with Xbox live and its only disadvantage is it "hot mikes" so you have to push the microphone mute button on the back of the left ear cup often or get a push to talk setup in the console and bind it to a key, or buy a secondary controller add-on
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It comes with a adapter I use it for PC, Xbox, and PS4, and yes you absolutely can hear your party and game.
