Yes you can use this wire with any type of amplifier. Your different choices of speaker wire usually have to do with the application you are using it for. Like out door use, or length of the run( distance from amp to speaker) A higher rating would only pertain to the gauge of the wire. A smaller number means a thicker gauge of wire and therefore a greater ability to carry more signal. Hope this helps.
