• This device has an AUX IN JACK that connects MP3 players, CD players,smartphones / ipods but not for external speakers.

• Don't know, it was a gift for my 98yr old mother. Her cassette player broke and I was looking for something that had a radio, cassette player and CD player combine. She loves it.
