Dear Ralph, The thickest branch the SJH902 will be able to cut through would need to have a diameter of .7 of an inch or less. So 3/4" can easily be cut. I hope this information is helpful. Please let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks Customer Service Team Snow Joe + Sun Joe
