I have the Phottix Mitros +. It is probably more expensive than the Meike or Sunpak but you will have much more versatility for you and your camera. With the Photitx you are able to take it off camera by adding a trigger. The receiver is built into the flash. You can buy cheaper now but as you progress in your photography you will want to improve your equipment. Then your old cheaper flash will be packed away in a box. A little more money now will pay off in the end.

Both flashes share many features, including the Nikon CLS system for remote flash operation. The Mk910 has the advantage of being a direct copy of Nikon’s best speedlight ever for DSLR cameras and the controls are the same. One other advantage is that the MK910 will have a range indicator on the LCD panel, to show the effective range of the flash based on the ISO and aperture in use. The Sunpak’s advantages are lower price and dual compatibility with Nikon and Canon. I have several Sunpak models like this DF4000U, and I love them. For the price, very hard to beat.
