Yes. It works w the d3400. I have been issuing this flash for 2mos now

If its like other flashes I've seen, you'll probably have to keep changing the power setting for the distance your taking the shot from. Its ok for stills, but I need one for moving dancers that may be up to 40 feet away or very close to me. That's a lot to do in a shot time.
