If the item is on sale it will not take off any percentage. It has to be regular priced item.

Discount only applies to physical copies, so that may be the issue.

If you purchased Gamers Club online, like I did, you may need to contact customer support to have it activated correctly on your account. I didn't receive the welcome email, coupons or see the game 20% discount until I reached out to best buy customer support forums and they had someone take care of it for me. Once I did that it was resolved within two days.

If you are shopping for black Friday or cyber Monday deals with the gamers club, both discounts don't work at the same time. If it's priced at regular price, then you'll get a discount!

This was likely because you tried to order it around Black Friday. Gamer's Club Unlocked does not work with Black Friday deals. Try it again now, it's working just fine for me.

You should try to log into Best Buy first. Sometimes it's worth it to close and reopen your browser. Go to the game and add it to the cart as usual after trying those steps.
