The starter pack comes with Traveler's Guide which the standard game doesn't have. Plus you get a case for the game. It also gives you information to get into the game if you missed the Breath Of the Wild and Splatoon 2 the first time around. Rather than looking up the guidebook online, you have everything there in the strategy guide

The starter pack comes with a travel guide booklet. It’s basically a synopsis on each kingdom, but not all of them.

The starter pack comes with a tiny printed guide/tutorial. I don’t really find it helpful. It’s just an extra touch to the game. You can find this guide in the game as well.
