• We had an issue and they fixed it free of charge. I believe the warranty covers manufacturers defects

• Yes. I recommend that everyone buy the warranty. Mine went out after 6 months. Took it back to the store and they give you the option to put the money you paid for it in a best buy gift card or pick a new one. So don't throw away the box.
