“Does the camera only work with wifi, or does it back up to an sd card. I would like to find something that has a back up record feature, in case wifi is down for any reason.”

YES - Can live stream w/o a memory card, or insert an SD card for when you want to save a recording.

The Free plan gives you 2 days of secure cloud storage and 7 days stored on the camera's built in memory. If the internet goes down, the footage will be stored on its internal memory and uploaded once the connection is regained. Make sure you download any clips you need from the activity log as when your storage days expire the video for that day is automatically removed by the system and is no longer retrievable.
