The motion detection is very good. It can be adjusted to: low, low/medium, medium, medium/high, or high. For Away, which I use during the day, I have it set to low/medium. For Night I use medium.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have mine turned down since it is so sensitive. Even blowing leaves set it off at the medium-high setting. On medium, the cats still set it off, but I will continue to play with the settings and aim to see what a good balance is. My Arlo 2 was so delayed that the action was about done before they even started recording.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I've found it to be quite good. Sometimes it seems to pick up the motion of swaying tree branches. I'm still trying to figure out the optimal sensitivity setting.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I found the motion detection to be quite good. Also, the sensitivity can be adjusted.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Motion detector range and sensibility are excellent. I'm not sure about the angle as I have not tested that yet.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If anything, the motion detector is TOO sensitive--fine with me. I've gotten Motion Detection notifications (which means a 1 min vid clip was taken) from: cars on the street passing the house; cars at an intersection 100 feet from the house approaching; cats, squirrels and even an occasional mouse, captured in video when they're near the house. The mouse was captured in a clip from around 4:00am. You can hear the SWANN floodlight kick on with a "CLICK" in the vid, and with my truck and the driveway lit up brightly by it, about a second later the mouse approaches from the neighbor's yard, scurries under my truck on the driveway, then scurries off down the street in the same direction. The camera visual clarity is pretty amazing. The clarity in daytime vid clips reveal people and their faces in such vividness I think the clip could be used by the police for perp identity. Thankfully, we haven't had any humans venture into the SWANN range in the dead of night, but the spotlights on the unit are so bright and the lens is so well crafted, I think we'd have a perp id even if it was a night time capture--and we leave the garage lights OFF at night now that we have the SWANN.
