• For a lower price. The 720P cameras are not as well made, they are plastic. They work well. The resolution is not as good as the cast aluminum 1080P cameras. Plan where you place the better 1080P cameras for best visibility, you will be happy with the system.

• I think the 720p were meant for inside use and this was just a way to gain more money by having to purchase the 1080p separately.
