Most systems continue to record when viewing remotely or locally, including a PTZ.

The DVR will record to its hard drive whenever there is motion, and you can simply use the Swann Security app to live view or playback any of those recordings anytime you like. Internet data will only be used whilst you are looking at your system through the app. A very small amount of data may also be consumed if you want to receive notifications of events when the DVR is recording, but you also have the option to turn these off too if you wish to. -SD, Swann team
