Hello BW,

Thank you for reaching out to us with your question. An internet connection is only required at the initial setup. Once set up the recorder can record directly onto its hard drive and later saved using a thumb drive. Click on the blue box on the bottom right-hand corner to live chat with a technical support agent or contact us over the phone.
