Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The key is for locking the battery on the bike. If the battery is on the bike and locked on you are good to go. You aren’t able to remove the battery without the key. If you have to turn it upside down to fix a tire or something and the battery isn’t locked it will fall off. If it’s not locked on the bike you probably want to secure it so it doesn’t bounce off.
