Hi there! You may need to check with your state to see if a license is required in your state. We recommend asking your local DMV, as although there are state regulations, some smaller towns and cities may have additional municipal regulations in addition to state regulations. The motor is 400W and the top speed is 20mph. Most states consider this as an electric scooter, but you should check with your DMV. Hope this helps.
