No. The switch lite is the same thing as the switch just a lighter take along version. Games are interchangeable as a regular switch.

If you're primarily using multiplayer games a switch may be a better alternative in the long run, if they are playing single player games they would need separate copies of the games in order to have separate saves or they would have to take turns using each others characters and everything
