Pre-orders were already open the day Nintendo announced this system the first wave sold out in the first couple days. If you check back here religiously you could snag one when someone cancels a preorder. There may also be a second wave of preorders made available closer to the release but that's only speculation. If you have to have one and don't have a preorder yet best bet would to be to go to your local best buy day of release right when the store opens to get one of the few systems they'll get in store. That, or purchase from a scalper after release.
