How do I open it? null

It opens like a laptop then the screen swivels in one direction (so don't force it if it doesn't move pretty easily) and can be folded in half so the screen is visible while it is closed during playback.

It’s a clamshell desig; and one opens the DVD cover by hand - just kind of gently pry it open from the front and drop the dvd in.

You just open it like a laptop...put it on a flat surface in front of you (hinge away from you) and pull top "up".
