• This is a combination NEW account activation and 30 day service plan with a SIM kit. It's meant for activating a GSM compatible phone on T-Mobile network, using the SIM card provided. You are supposed to receive 30 days service along with this activation kit. If you want to just add more data or days to your EXISTING T-Mo prepaid account, you want a different product - a TMo REFILL card. This is meant for NEW lines of service. All mobile cellular devices require a MEID (mobile tel number), so that's what this TMo activation SIM card provides. Yes, once you activate your phone using this package, you keep the number provided until you cancel the account, or request a new number. Refilling the account with a REFILL card does not change your number. Hope that answers your question
