• If T-Mobile won't unlock it you can usually get the code from reseller.blowfishunlocks.com . It is unlockable. It will not work on Sprint.

• Yes you can unlock by getting a code from T-Mobile. To my knowledge there are requirements you'll have to meet before they would give you the unlock code such as being a customer for at least several months ...

• You can try @ eBay. Its usually ~$9-15 to get unlock code, depending on the model. Or you can go to this site: https://goo.gl/oQI3gq to check T-mobile unlock criteria/requirements.
