Hi! You can absolutely use Apple phone or tablet to set up Tablo. However, we do not yet have an app for Apple TV, but we are in beta and it should be releasing soon.

It works on iOS devices (iPhone, iPad), not on AppleTV or MacOS

I used my Ipad to configure the box and use the Tablo App from the Apple store to watch shows. LG smart apps for my Smart TV don't work yet with 4th gen. The older Tablo worked on everything including smart tvs, Windows and Apple.

The Tablo App for your phone is available in the Apple App Store according to Tablos Web Site? As far as I can determine you do need a smartphone, android or apple for setup.

Not as of yet. They're supposedly currently working on a 4th gen app for Apple TV. There is a Roku app currently available. As well as Amazon Fire TV and Android/Google TV streaming devices.

There is iOS apps now, the Apple TV app is currently in beta and not public. You can sign up in their community for it and it does work well.
