No, these are streaming DVR's. You would need either a cheap Homeworx DVR with almost no features or much more expensive TiVo or the $300 Zapperbox for direct HDMI connections. Except the TiVo and ZB will still need internet for the guide, UI, icons and all that. I think the TiVo will stop recording after 2 weeks with no connection as the guide date will run out, probably same with the Zapper.
