A:Answer I have a Nikon D7100, the model previous to your D7200. The 200-500mm works like a champ on it. In comparison to my older Nikon 1st gen 80-400mm, it finds focus way quicker, and seemingly more accurately. No more waiting while it "hunts" for a focus. In comparison to my Nikon f2.8 70-200mm, it is roughly the same, perhaps a tad slower but it's also a lot cheaper. Image quality is very nice. Sharp. Clear. Fast.
It IS pretty heavy, fairly ponderous. But for "sharpness and clarity" on the D7200, I think you'll be pleased.
