it will not work with the 6D as this is a Full Frame sensor body.... But it will work with your 50D as it is a APC-C format frame sensor body.

This Tamron lens will is not compatible for the Canon 6D as this camera is a "Full Frame" body. The lens is for APS-C, i.e crop sensor bodies. You can use a Full Frame or APS-C lens on a APS-C body but NOT APS-C lens on Full Frame bodies.
